Hole in Pizza Box: An Interpretation

This is Jasper and me

on top of some cut out people.

This morning we walked past an art gallery.

It had art in it.

When I got home I worked on my latest piece 'homage au Patsy's Pizza for Adam Powell'

Sometimes artists do not get the recognition they deserve.

My work is currently on display near where we recycle things.
I will make some more art tomorrow.

love

  1. Dear Buster, you have clearly refined the art of tearing holes in cardboard! Perhaps your next project should be to convince mom to give you some of the actual pizza as well...

  4. I just don't know how you do it- you are such a good art pup! My only art is when my person takes me out to empty me and comes home with the art in a bag- Sometimes it is displayed at the garage door but mostly it goes directly into the big green bin . My person especially ohhhed and ahhhed over the pups on cut out people but i like your hole the best!

  6. if you ask me, an art critic wouldn't be able to spot the difference between what's in the gallery and your work, buster. struth! the things that pass for art these days.

  7. Buster- I'm glad to see your showing more of your art- and the use of a Patsy's pizza box was ...inspired.

  8. Hello Buster, you know, for a young pup (and despite your amazing sophistication and charm you truly are a young pup) you have amazing insights into the New York art scene.

It is September, and that means that the season of Openings, not openings, is about to begin. I am so happy to see that you have got some new pieces underway. I am a bit concerned that these new pieces might be on their way to recycling, but ... after all, Buster you are the artist and know best.

    Best wishes.

  10. Buster I wish you could collaberate with my cat Isadora. She works more with cloth than cardboard but she has a wonderful way of clawing thru her work.

you two would be wonderful together!!

  11. I was just going to ask if you wanted to do a
joint art piece with Opie. He has a series of
UN-stuffed refashioned toys called, "if fluff were innards..."

Alongside your commentary pieces about boxes and
containers the whole notion of being a being with insides and outsides and holes made by others...the possibilities are without end!

We are watching your new series with joy!

  14. Why...if that other stuff is art, your work requires just the same dedication and imagination...good work! Oh, and thank your mom for stopping by to visit our bloggie, too!

  16. Hi Buster.
Your piece 'homage au Patsy's Pizza for Adam Powell' is arresting. Its present installation highlights its synthesis of gestalt perceptual theory and found-object art. Is the object rising out of a dark background? Is one inside a cave viewing an illuminated outside object? Wonderfully done.
